Tomáš Slavata

A professional sportsman and a member of the modern pentathlon team of Dukla Praha. He finished 14^th  in the World Championship in France 2004, 12^th place in the European Championship in 2005 and the 20^th place in the World Championship in Monaco 2007. When preparing for the European Championship in Switzerland he suffered a complicated collarbone fracture, but despite this accident he was able – after a surgery – to won a place during the Xterra European Cup in Germany qualifying him to the championship. He is a sportsman able to fulfil his dreams and to fight for them. Presently he also works as a chief coach of children and youth for the athletics team of Atletika Tábor, which gives him opportunity to prepare himself.

In his life he fought to overcome even the most difficult obstacles, not only in sport. Eight years ago he adopted his nephews from a children’s home, in the year 2008 he saved his rival’s life and in the year 2009 he was awarded with a “Certificate of Merit” from the Olympic Association and the Fair Play Club.
